Well I moved my hosting yet again.
Moved away from GoDaddy as it was getting too slow. Been there a year and it was okay and cost effective but I purchased a new visual editor and theme from Elegant Themes and it was painfully slow. I should have done some more research before buying and installing Divi as others had found that GoDaddy hosting doesn’t work well with it.
So I’m now using SiteGround and I’m very happy so far. Its based on an SSD drive with more resources and optimized for WP. Their support has been fantastic so far. Online chat with nearly no wait time to get answered and then the three staff I have chatted to have been really knowledgeable and gave me some good advice.
Now to learn Divi properly !
Took the plunge and deleted my WP multi-site install to correct some errors with my first install, namely getting domain mapping to work with unique domains.
All seemed okay until I did a restore (import) of this site and a few others and noticed there were no image thumbnails in the media gallery. Importing new images had the same issue and placing an image into a post resulted in no image being shown.
After much research and hair pulling I tried the WP Plugin Force Regenerate Thumbnails and it claimed to have regenerated the thumbnails but they still were not visible.
Then I found this post in the WordPress support forum by Linda Ursin that mentions a missing entry in the .htaccess file.
# uploaded files
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]
I don’t fully understand what is does but it gave me back my images 🙂
Thought I should start off hosting on GoDaddy.com the right way and use SSL certificates on my new websites.
Found https://www.sslforfree.com and it was a snap to start making SSL certificates and upload them to GoDaddy, even though the help files on SSLForFree.com suggested GoDaddy doesnt have an SSL Manager in its cPanel. Well it does in Asutralia as least.
Then added the Really Simple SSL plugin from https://really-simple-ssl.com and it works, mainly it works. Still have an issue that I think is related to the GoDaddy hosting with SSL not being configurable for the primary domain, this one.

Regrettably we are selling our beautiful blue convertible BMW as its just getting to be a bit small in the back seat for our growing kids.
SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD
Its sold to a young lady in Brisbane whose boyfriend is a BM enthusiast 🙂
Thanks to Speed-Hunters again I have found what I think might be the first professional modifier of Tesla’s Model S saloon.
Bullet Proof Automotive in California have started the development process with body kits and suspension upgrades with more to come. A very forward thinking company that also does some other really wild mods to modern petrol powered autos.
So i saw this XC90 a few years ago and wondered how they tinted the tail lights.
These guys supply flexible tinting films in various colours;
Awesome, maybe the X5 needs some…

Amazingly the new BMW M5 V8 engine reverses the normal flow of intake charge and exhaust flow. The exhaust valves send the exiting gases out into the middle of the V in the block and straight into the twin turbos also mounted in the V. (hard to imagine how they deal with the heat from the turbos there)
Well the Saab museum has re-opened and all those quirky cars get to stay together thanks to three Swedish interests: the city of Trollhättan, SAAB AB and The Wallenberg Foundation.
